The members of the congregation of Bellville South brought a South African twist to the cultural evening hosted on Thursday 29 April 2010.
Upon entering the hall they were greeted with the sound of vigorous shouting and stamping of feet, a dance performed by the brothers, known to sporting enthusiasts as the Haka. This is a war dance commonly performed by the Maori’s of New Zealand. This was a clear indication that the congregation adopted the Kiwi country as part of their preparation for Pentecost. Deacon A Damon, who spent a number of years in the NZ, shared his experiences and perceptions of the land with the audience who in turn reciprocated his enthusiasm for the visit of Chief Apostle Leber and the Apostles of the world. The South African twist in the evening came in the form of traditional Cape Malay style food, served to all.
