Preparation for the service for the Departed
Various activities took place in the congregation of Windsor Park as part of their preparation for the divine service for the Departed, Sunday 4 July 2010.
These activities included discussions during adoption classes, during which both members and guest had the opportunity to discuss various topical issues and learn more about the redemption work of souls in the realms of the departed. In addition to these discussions, fellowships were enjoyed by various sections in the congregation which included the senior members, Sunday school body, youth, ministers and members.
To maintain the momentum achieved during the preparations leading up to the Day of Pentecost, smaller fellowship cells and activities were held in Windsor Park with the focus on preparations for the Service for Departed. Unredeemed souls seeking for salvation and redemption from the beyond were the uppermost importance for the congregants.
In addition to this, fellowship cells facilitated by the priestly ministries were arranged in the various sections, senior members came together to discuss this important day, the Sunday school children were prepared during their holiday programme and the priestly ministers and wives took time out to have fellowship facilitated by the rector. The day prior to the divine service, the youth could be seen cleaning the interior and exterior of the church hall as well as brightening the day of the sick and frail at various homes and institutions paving the way for a blessed encounter with God at his altar of grace.
All these intensified preparations, coupled with the many intercessory prayers, paved the way for a most blessed and wonderful Service for Departed experienced by all.
