Significance of the IAM and Pentecost logo:

100x100

To assist in keeping the focus on the special events surrounding the visit of the Chief Apostle to Cape Town during May 2010, a special logo has been designed. Each element of the design has a special significance for the International Apostle’s Meeting and for the Pentecost divine service.

Explanation of Logo:

At the centre of the logo is the emblem of the New Apostolic Church which identifies its members internationally. This emblem is imposed on a sketched impression of Table Mountain – a landmark that across the world is associated with Cape Town. Above and below these elements are the letters IAM and the numerals 2010, which conveys the message that the International Apostle’s Meeting will be held in Cape Town and that for Pentecost 2010 the focus of the New Apostolic world will be on Cape Town.

The bands of colour are in an elliptical shape to depict the globe. The colours that are used are blue, yellow, black, white, green and red. Every national flag in the world includes at least one of these colours and they also represent the six continents of the world. This signifies that the meeting in Cape Town has representation from all parts of the globe.

The elliptical image formed by the coloured bands is broken by gaps which form the shape of a cross – the symbol that identifies Christians.

All of these elements serve to convey the message of unity in the spirit which is captured in the motto that accompanies the logo: One Spirit, one goal!

For the Pentecost divine service the acronym IAM will be replaced by the image of a dove, which is one of the symbols of the Holy Spirit. The dove as a symbol of hope and renewal was the form in which the Holy Spirit appeared during the baptism of the Lord Jesus in the Jordan.
