Advent choral with a difference

DSCN2677-640All the members who form part of the vast region of East London were invited to the congregation of Buffalo Flats for the annual Advent Choral.
This took place on the first Sunday of Advent which this year fell on Sunday 29 November 2009. This year’s choral took on a new format with the Sunday school children greeting the members upon arrival with colourfully wrapped money boxes into which monetary donations towards the St Bernard’s Hospice were placed.

With collaboration between the South African Police Service Band and the church choir it was sure to be an exciting event. The grandiose sound of the brass band filled the church hall with life and excitement as the audience anxiously waited for the commencement of the performance. The brass band showcased their talents with various contemporary items. With the help of the brass band, the children’s choir and adult choir were able to present a lively programme of heartwarming carols, tunes for brass bands and the Hallelujah chorus. Bishop A Nel addressed the audience at the conclusion of the musical presentation and thanked them for supporting the cause of St Bernard’s Hospice.
