The members of the congregation of Townsend Estate had a tantalizing day awaiting them after their divine service on Sunday 3 November 2009. Various “cooks” had been assigned to prepare mouth watering pots of“potjiekos” for them at the Goodwood sports ground.
Once the meals were ready to be served members were spoiled for choice with a variety of aromas captivating their sense of smell as they moved from one table to the next. After the hearty meal some of the members tried to run off the extra calories by engaging in competitive rugby and cricket whilst others just enjoyed the comfort of relaxing under a tree.
