| Team building for confirmands of 2010 |
|
This was Friday evening 27 November 2009. The group was unaware that this trip was about to get very dangerous if they didn’t work together as a team. The confirmands were grouped into four groups and each group had to give itself a name. They then went on foot to a secluded spot on the farm where Abri taught them the art of distinguishing between the various constellations and galaxies of stars. From there they were taken to the furthest point on the farm and instructed to makes use of the skills they had acquired to help them find their way back to the camp. This task proved to be very exciting as it was dark and they had to rely on each other for guidance. When the last group arrived at the camp at 22:45 they were exhausted and in dire need of a shower and almost immediately made their way to bed. Saturday 28 November 2009 dawned far too soon for them with Abri up and ready to tackle the obstacle courses he had prepared for them. After successfully tackling the obstacles it was time to make their way back to camp where breakfast was served. These team building exercises taught the young group a vital lesson in life: Everyone has something – be it great or small - to offer that will make your task easier.

The confirmands of Groot-Brakrivier together with various ministers from their district arrived at the De Denne guest house to find the owners, Abri and Marietha anxiously waiting to take them on a tour of the location.
