Saturday 14 February 2009 was not only Valentine’s Day, but also the day on which the Outeniqua Wheel Chair Race took place.
The young people of the Pacaltsdorp district assisted in this race of a different kind. The event drew internationally and nationally disabled participants in wheelchairs. The youth of Pacaltsdorp district made this one of their Community Outreach Projects and offered to assist those who could not wheel their chairs on their own. The young people braved a very cold and wet morning to bring joy to many of the disabled and in the process gave the celebrity guest Breyton Paulse a run for his money.
