On Sunday 9 May 2010 the New Apostolic Church, Cape, donated linen to the value of R20 000 to the Rusthof Old Age Home in Paarl.

This was in response to the aftermath of the devastating fire which claimed the life of three senior citizens and caused destruction in the sick bays and frail care sections of the home. This donation, enough to cover all 74 beds in the home, warmed the hearts of the residents and staff of the Old Age home.
Prior to the handover, Bishop Johann Bucchianeri conducted a short divine service during which he asked that the blessing of the Most High God rest upon everyone present. The Bishop used this opportunity to thank the staff members for the outstanding service that they provide to the community. With it being Mother’s Day, all the mothers present were thanked for the help and support they provide in their respective communities.
