On Sunday 17 May 2009 Apostle B de Vries conducted a divine service in the congregation of Beacon Valley North where he placed the Priest Kevin Delport into early retirement due to ill health.

His retirement came after many years of serving in the ministry. 
Also present in this divine service were 6 youth members who later travelled to Germany for the European youth day. The congregation took this opportunity to wish them well on their journey. To add to the festivity of this day was the fact that the congregation of Beacon Valley North celebrated its 10th  year in existence.
