 So what can a choir made up of singers from all the congregations in one bishop area...
who have never sung together before, accomplish with a number of hymns and songs which are all new to them in less than a month? The answer is . . . magic!
On Sunday 7 June 2009 the Retreat bishop area had a fundraising choral at the Silvertown Auditorium. The members had mostly purchased tickets in support of this venture, but little did they know that they were to be blown away by the concert. The audience showed their great appreciation for the beautiful musicality with which the various items were performed, by a variety of groupings, but without a doubt, it was the children's choir that received the greatest praises and the loudest applause.
The hour was concluded by a spirited performance of the spectacular "We Journey to Zion" medley. One thing is certain, once the word gets out about how good the performance was, they'll need a bigger venue for their next choral concert.
