DISTRICT APOSTLE VISIT TO KHAYAMNANDI

Joy was radiating on the faces of all at Khayamnandi congregation on Thursday 21 May 2009. Not only was it a celebration of a festive service, Ascension Day, but also that District Apostle N.E Barnes was visiting this congregation. Following extensive preparation and sacrifices, this day finally arrived for the congregants of Khayamnandi. When the district apostle arrived at the congregation, he was welcomed by Sunday school children of approximately thirty, who had formed a guard of honor and sang traditional songs at the same time. The joy and the exuberance of the congregation was felt and experienced when the congregation started to sing the opening hymn. In serving this congregation District Apostle Barnes used a text word taken out of Luke 9:51. The importance of the text was based on the ascension of Jesus and its significance to our own ascension. He elaborated how Jesus Christ endured hardship and rejection on earth. After service the district apostle took photos with the new recently confirmed youth. This photo was followed by a picture of the district apostle with the children in their Recycle for Me t-shirts. Accompanying the district apostle were, Apostle Mintoor and the Bishops A. Nel, F. Flores and L. Vaaltein.
