Anxiety which lead to joy

 
The congregation of Uitsig was alive with anticipation when they, together with the congregations of Cravenby and Florida, sang with joyful voices at the commencement of the divine service which was conducted by District Apostle N Barnes on Sunday 4 July 2010.

With the height of their preparation nestled in their hearts some 1850 members listened with attentive ears and hearts to the spoken word brought to them by the District Apostle. Blessed encounters of faith were experienced when during the divine service Holy Sacraments were dispensed by the District Apostle to the Departed souls which was followed by the moving singing of the congregation.
It was also an opportunity for the District Apostle to place District Elder R Pretourius into a much deserved retirement as he has served and lead the members of the area for a number of years. The hint of sadness soon faded when the combined congregation merged with the existing Belhar district under the leadership of District Elder A Echardt. For the members, the blessings they received on the day will carry them into the future.
