Situated on a busy stretch of road, in what some would term a central business district, is the congregation of Retreat West.

Hundreds of vehicles and pedestrians stream past the building on a daily basis but on Wednesday 21 July 2010 many entered.
The tiny church, with a seating capacity of 140, was packed to capacity when on the night District Apostle N Barnes served the congregation. The spirit of the congregation was lifted to new heights when after nearly fifteen years this happy congregation was once again served by a District Apostle. Also present to serve them was Apostles H Swartbooi, G Mintoor, from the Eastern Cape, as well as the resident Apostle, J Kriel.
The tangible excitement of the members could be heard and felt in their singing which translated into glowing faces who agreed to practice obedience; the golden thread which strengthens our bonds of faith. The little congregation will long remember the joyful ambiance which warmed up a chilly night in Cape Town.
