The first souls were sealed by the late Apostle C Klibbe in Namibia on Sunday 20 June 1909. Despite many setbacks, including World War I and World War II, the Church grew in leaps and bounds in this area. The result of all this is the fact that this area is now home to some 28 000 New Apostolic Christians.
In celebrating a hundred years since the first Holy Sealings, District Apostle N Barnes and all the apostles of the Cape District Church visited Windhoek for a series of activities from 18 to 21 June 2009. On the Saturday the District Apostle and those accompanying him spent time with the brothers and sisters of Namibia. This took place at a fun day held at a local stadium where there were different stalls and entertainment was enjoyed by all.
On the Sunday the District Apsotle held a divine service in the Nampower Convention Centre, which was audio-visually, transmitted 617 congregations throughout the district church. The text word was taken out of 1 Samuel 10: 6. In serving the congregation the District Apostle was assisted by the Apostles M Diedricks, J Kriel, A Muyendekwa and B Swartbooi.
