District Apostle N Barnes served the congregation of Lavender Hill on Sunday 10 May 2009. On this day, which also marked Mother’s Day, the District Apostle referred to the mothers of old who trusted implicitly in God. He made mention of the mother of Moses, who trusted God enough to put her child in a basket on the water. How wonderfully God intervened in this situation.
In preparation for the serving of the souls in the beyond with Holy Communion the District Apostle singled out those mothers who had preceded us into the beyond, and who had played a large role as pioneers in the Church. At the conclusion of the divine service, the District Apostle invited all those who are 80 and older for a photograph with him. This served as yet another special moment for the seniors.
