A six year courtship lead Jimmy and Ellen Solomons to the altar on Saturday 25 June 1960 to be joined in Holy Matrimony.

It was during a divine service conducted by Shepherd F Hendricks in the congregation of Retreat East on Sunday 27 June 2010, that the 50th anniversary of their nuptials were blessed with the Golden wedding anniversary blessing bestowed as the congregation stood witness to this significant day in their lives.
