Saxonsea visits Mossel Bay
Bishop P Kilian wished an excited group of senior members and coordinators from the congregation of Saxonsea farewell as they embarked on a trip to Mossel Bay for the weekend of Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December 2009.
As they drove along the pristine coastline that leads to their destination they were greeted with fond thoughts of what the weekend would have in store for them. After a long drive they reached their destination at 16:30. There they quenched their thirst and gave their feet some rest as they lounged at the poolside.
On Saturday 5 December 2009 the group made their way to the Ostrich Farm in Oudtshoorn. The educational nature of this tour was of interest to the senior members who were introduced to the ostrich and made aware of the lifecycle and stages that these creatures pass through. After many insightful discussions they finally made their way to an open area where they had the opportunity to go for a ride on the back of an ostrich as well as to feed them.
The excitement of the weekend culminated in joyful moments that were experienced when they attended the divine service in the congregation of Mossel Bay South on Sunday 6 December 2009. The time to say goodbye came all too soon, but with it came the resolution to return in the near future.
