Cool To Care
The Thortonians earmarked the Elim Night Shelter in Elsies River as the venue for their charitable gifts of love as they extended their hands by catering for the needs of 65 homeless people who arrive at the doorsteps of the shelter for safety and nourishment. On Sunday 6 December 2009 the members from Thorton congregation along with District Elder D Kotze and Shepherd M Tajljaard arrived at the shelter with many pots of food and a special word for those who listened with anxious ears. Wonderful experiences of faith were made in their midst after which they placed a visit to the shelter on their monthly programme.
