Eight homeless children reside at the CAFDA children’s home in Retreat.
The home provides the children with safety, security, shelter, nourishment and love. Luxuries such as television and games are something few of them are familiar with. On Monday 15 March 2010 the ministerial body of Grassy Park district arrived at the home with two large gifts in hand, one draped with pink ribbons. As a result of the generous donations made by the members of the district who participated in the Friendship walk around the world, District Elder S Scholtz was able to present a flat screen television and DVD player to the supervisor of the home, Elizabeth Bell.
