 On Sunday 8 February 2009 Bishop A Witten conducted the Sunday school divine service in Silvertown congregation.
The text word, which served as the basis for this service, was taken from John 6:12, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” This service saw the launch of the thanksgiving theme for 2009 which concentrates on recycling. The essence of the sermon focused on not being wasteful with that which our God has created. The teaching was made relevant to both our natural and spiritual lives. The divine service was followed by a short DVD presentation from the District Apostle to formally introduce the Thanksgiving theme. One could feel the excitement in not only the young ones but also the adults in the congregation who attended the divine service.
