As you wish . . .

Community Evangelist L Deyzel is the rector of Karibib Congregation in Walvis Bay, which falls under the Cape District Church.
At the wish of his late brother-in-law he found himself standing behind the altar of Silverton congregation in Pretoria on the afternoon of Wednesday 4 March 2009. Here’s the story: Community Evangelist Deyzel and his immediate family are the only New Apostolic Christians in the greater family circle; they joined the faith 12 years ago. Unbeknown to him his non-New Apostolic brother-in-law’s dying wish was to have him officiate at his funeral service. The family of the deceased honoured this wish and the arrangements were made for the service to be conducted in the Silverton Church hall in Pretoria. Upon seeing the diligence that went into all the preparations for the memorial service, the family requested to be told what the fee for all of this would be. They were deeply moved when told that such divine services were held in an honorary capacity and there would thus be no charge. They were moved by this gesture and the message in the sermon for the deceased, so much so, that some of the family members have subsequently attended divine services in the New Apostolic Church. Maybe in the world to come we will find out what prompted this wish!
