Shepherd A Meyer planned to spring a surprise on the scholars in his care at Belvue Primary School.

They were unaware that their teacher, Mister Meyer, shared the same faith as them. He quizzed them daily on the various religious matters and activities in which they participated; this at times left the children exhausted and filled with curiosity.
With the intervention of Bishop S Smith, the children were invited to attend a divine service in the congregation of Fisantekraal on Wednesday 17 March 2010. They could not believe their eyes when the bishop emerged from the vestry with none other than their teacher, Shepherd A Meyer, close on his heels. Needless to say, back at school many days passed before normality returned to the classroom.
