On Saturday 31 July 2010 the Sunday school children from Walvis Bay District made their way to the beach for what promised to be no ordinary day trip.

Tens of footprints could be seen planted in the sand as the children and their teachers made their way across the shore with black bags in hand, picking up anything which belongs in a bin which, if left as is, ultimately tarnishes the picturesque environment. This wasn’t a chore but a healing process for both the environment and the children who, when taught through a culture caring, was able to understand the importance they play in keeping their environment safe and clean.
