On Thursday 31 December 2009 the Sunday school children of the congregation of Dassenberg lined the walkway that leads to the entrance of their congregation as they waited for the arrival of Apostle C van der Merwe who was scheduled to serve them.

Upon his arrival they welcomed the Apostle and presented him with a greeting card from the members.
The choir prepared the way for what was to be a marvelous end to the year. During the divine service the Holy Spirit was dispensed upon three souls through the Act of Holy Sealing. Two brothers were added to the ministerial workforce with their ordination into the deacon ministry.
