A desire born in the heart of two district evangelists was taken further by Apostle JL Kriel and finally lead to the departure of a group of brothers from Silvertown church on a mission trip to Ovamboland. The trip was undertaken to coincide with the visit of District Apostle Barnes to the area.
After a relatively uneventful journey during which the fellowship was strengthened, the group reached their destination. On Wednesday 2 June 1999, six of the brothers held services in the area.
On Friday 4 June, the brothers met District Apostle Barnes at the airport and thereafter left for a guest choral hour at Ondangwe where 216 guests were present.
Another guest choral took place on Saturday 5 June in the Unam centre of the University of Namibia where the district apostle was present. In all, 241 guests were in attendance.
The highlight of the trip was the district apostle service on the Sunday. During the service three brothers were ordained into the priest ministry to strengthen the congregations in the area. After the service the return journey was safely undertaken.
In total, 900 souls came into contact with the New Apostolic Church in these few days and great joy was generated in the hearts of many a soul in Ovamboland.
