Ascension Day 2012

Thursday 17 May 2012 was a special day for the staff of the Administration Office in Southfield as, unlike any other day during a working week, they gathered as a congregation.

The religious day celebrating the Ascension of Christ 40 days after he resurrected from the dead, is celebrated with a special divine service in all congregations, and this year included the Good Hope Centre in the city centre for those who work in the CBD. In the Southfield church, District Apostle N Barnes served the staff and their families, making the day unique, as they remembered and celebrated the day which gave rise to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. In true Christian tradition, after the festivities of the Word, they, as in Acts 2:42,  enjoyed fellowship, radiating the joy of day.
