Fellowship to be intensified on the Island
A number of members from the NAC Cape will be sailing for days making tracks – not sure if that’s the correct word to use – to St Helena Island for some intense fellowship with the Saints (the nickname for the community of St Helena Island). A group of 40 members accompanied by Apostle J Stephens will be leaving the shores of Cape Town on Friday 25 April 2008 and will be sailing the seas for 5 days before they reach their destination on Wednesday 30 April 2008. This trip is meant to foster strong fellowship with our members on the Island. As we speak, the Saints are busy preparing for this group’s arrival. Practices for the evening concert that will be held especially for this group are underway, while in Cape Town the group is polishing its cricket and skittles skills in preparation for their derby with the Saints. Cape Town’s delegation of forty will also not go empty handed; a charity institution on the island will be identified and that institution will receive a donation from this group.
Somebody somewhere may be thinking that mommy or daddy will be gone for too long to some island, which has minimal or no network coverage. Don’t worry; the families of this group will be able to communicate with their loved ones from across the sea via satellite on Sunday 4 May 2008. The group is set to leave the Island back to Cape Town on Friday 9 May 2008.
