When two ends meet
The two groups of confirmands met at Dennekraal for the first time on the week-end starting from Friday 11 July 2008. Having traveled from the Malmesbury and the Westridge districts these youngsters had a full program ahead of them that had been arranged by the teachers. Early on the Saturday morning they were involved in group activities and later on participated in a training program on leadership, conflict resolution and most importantly knowing their faith.
Afterwards these youngsters were given ample time and opportunity to get to know each other through games and other exercises. All worn out and tired, they went to bed early in preparation for the divine service the following day. This divine service they attended at the Sir Lowry’s pass congregation after which they packed their bags and started out on their separate ways home. One thing is for sure, the friendships cultivated during this weekend will last for quite some time.

Blessed is the hand that gives
Following a special youth service on Sunday 6 April 2008, the youngsters of the Saldanha district visited the West Coast Community HIV & AIDS institution to make a donation of non-perishable foods. This youth group had in the past months decided to collect non-perishable food items and give it to this institution.
After the service, the collected food items were handed over to a representative of this institution with the words, “This is a token of our love for the community and those in need. May God bless you in all your endeavours and may He reward you for your efforts.” Ms. Gereldo Pieters accepted this donation on behalf of the West Coast Community HIV & AIDS institution. This institution caters – both physically and spiritually – for those needy families most affected by the pandemic in the West Coast area.
