It is only fair to say an early Saturday morning workout is not the norm for pre-teens.
With late morning alarm clocks set and the option of breakfast served in bed for the teachers, it came as a huge surprise to the Sunday school Music Coordinator and members in the congregation of Macassar when many of the Sunday school children in the music group met them with bright morning smiles.
Ready to embark on the epic walk at one of the most pristine locations on the Hottentots-Holland mountain range, 27 children and 9 adults readied themselves at the foot of the walkway.
Going uphill proved to be the toughest part of their journey. There were of course a few moans and groans but nothing that could not be remedied with a piggy back ride and lots of cheerful banter and songs to get them to their destination.
